I love spending time under the dark skies, especially during the winter months when the stars are easier to see through the dry air. Even during the new moon one can see their surroundings by starlight in the winter. I had planned to photograph the winter Milky Way over this secluded house, mother nature had a different plan bringing in clouds. My plans changed and I ended up with a beautiful sky as the clouds were lit by the lights of town a few kilometers away.
