Solitude
Solitude
From the frozen shores of Lake Superior. The relentless power of the big lake is punishing, but nature is resilient. The small trees on top coated in ice and clinging to the rock year after year soldiering on and never giving up.
Sometimes a composition screams at you to take it’s photo. This was one of those times. A Polar Vortex had covered this bay with fresh ice leaving pancake ice and sea smoke along the rocks. With the rising sun and the thick ice coating the rocks it was easy to pick out this shot and wait for the sun to rise. Sure it was cold at -35*C but oh what a morning on the Shores of Lake Superior!
